The BABYMOON!!

Here we will chat all things babymoon, from what is a babymoon to where is best to babymoon. I recently embarked on my very own pre-baby get away so will share what i learned with you all - you can check out a few of the holiday  pics on my insta @eat_sleep_rave_repeat_uk

Feel free to add in your babymoon locations and your tips in the comments section below this blog
This is just what i found and my opinion, i wished there was someone i knew who had babymooned that i could ask hence this blog.

Okay what exactly is a 'Babymoon' to put it bluntly it is the last holiday Mum and Dad (to be) get to go away without kids, a chance to relax and prepare for the chaos to come.  To sum it up it is basically this picture (Mum on water / dad on beer) BUT it is totally worth it in my opinion, just some time to chill. It is different than any holiday you've been on before if you're a first time parent. In bed for 11 and not too much sunbathing but it is some much needed alone time and TBH time for mum and dad to spend with the baby too. Every morning Alex spoke to baby, played baby music and we watched her kick away, this would not happen usually, both running out the door to work. It was honestly such a magical hour and those are the memories i will keep not that of a great night out.

WHERE?
There are many good choices but money is probably tight with a new baby to save for and maternity pay to plan for so i wouldn't go and break the bank. We used the term 'cheap and cheerful'. You also want to keep in mind that you are infact pregnant (surprise)you don't want an 18-30 holiday and it isn't recommended to have too long a flight or journey.
We opted for Lanzarote in Oct/Nov and it was perfect. Not too warm not to far away and relatively cheap, it is also safe to travel their when pregnant.
This being said there is many places at home too, just a few days away is enough to get you in the right headspace.

WHEN?
I went at 25 weeks pregnant, this was after research on when i would be most comfortable which is the 2nd trimester. Also remember to check with airlines when they let you travel until, we were Ryanair which allow woman to travel no problem until 28 weeks after which you need a letter from your doctor. That being said i am very visibly pregnant and no one even batted an eyelid.

TIPS - Random stuff that will help
Insurance- This is so important, make sure you let the agency know you are pregnant.
Suncreen - I totally freaked myself out with what suncreen, what i was able to use and what factor. I am usually a F15 gal then drop it down but your skin is waaaay too sensitive for that when pregnant. I will sum up what i read and that is buy waterproof baby sunscreen that is at least factor 30. Now this is just a summery of what i decided to follow and what i found online, i was getting so worked up about choosing the wrong sunscreen i nearly went with none.
Shoes - TRAINERS. my ankles were killing me. trust me on that!!
Tan - For the first time ever on holiday i faked it and i am glad. Granted but the time the picture above was taken on the last day i was au natural but i got very little to no tan. i Still wore my sunscreen but i felt better about the fact i looked as if i got some sun for the majority of the holiday.
Relax - Just use your time wisely, gather your thoughts, eat nice food and enjoy your partners company. I am soooo glad we went even if i did feel bad for Alex rubbing my feet every night. Ahh well he got the drink beer so don't feel too bad for him.

TO REVEAL / OR NOT TO REVEAL... Boy or Girl / Pheobe or Pheobo (soz friends quote) in this blog I am going to be discussing should you find out the sex of your baby? Should you tell people? Should you do a reveal? What is the right thing to do? Who are you in there? As soon as I got to 16 weeks I had to find out. 16 weeks was hard enough not to know but so many people like to share their opinion (usually unwanted) about finding out and I can only assume those who decide to not find out get the same telling off for not knowing. It is my baby if I want to know or not it is totally my choice so I just ignored them all but it has left me thinking that there are properly parents to be who listen to these over opinionated folk so I thought I'd (try) and help if you are struggling with the should you/shouldn't you. Firstly, as I mentioned I found out but I knew from the start I wanted to mostly because I'm nosey but that does not mean it is right for ever
Materni-tight... OK, i am going to pass on what i think is the holy grail of my very limited knowledge on the subject of pregnancy.  MATERNITY CLOTHES Trust me when i say i have done the leg work and sweated my way in and out as many clothes as physically possible the last few months. It is hard to dress that ever expanding belly, boobs, legs, bum, face, ankles, back bla bla. First question i asked myself... Do i go bigger or do i go maternity? Bigger means owning up to the fact i'm gaining weight and actually having to buy a bigger size, shallow yes but true none the less. Maternity means i'm only getting a limited time from what i buy (what can i say I like my moneys worth, not sorry) I went for bigger and bought two sizes above. I must admit now nearly 6 months pregnant they still fit, well i use 'Fit' loosely. They physically still fasten is what i mean. Well they physically still fasten pre-lunch. Anyway... they are a bit loose on the le
